Many of Penn State’s campuses offer dedicated space for gardens. At Penn State Behrend, the entire campus serves as an arboretum, where visitors can take time to enjoy a wide and varied collection of international tree and plant life collected over decades.
Seven Penn State campuses have created a network that will inventory trees and plant life while sharing research and teaching resources, with the eventual goal of creating an arboretum at each of the University’s 24 campuses.
This spring, Penn State Schuylkill became the second Penn State campus to receive arboretum accreditation from the Interactive Community of Arboreta (ArbNet), the only international accreditation program for arboreta.
